Working Families 'tours' AIG Wilton

By LAUREN MYLO

Villager Staff Writer

WILTON -- The Connecticut Working Families party is hosting a "Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous" tour culminating in a rally at the AIG offices in Wilton Saturday.

On a charter bus from Hartford, the group will tour executives' homes and the site of the Wilton AIG Financial Products office, culminating in a rally there.

Captain Michael Lombardo of the Wilton Police Department said the department is aware of the rally and has been in touch with the organizers.

"We're coordinating our efforts with AIG and Working Families," he said.

A facebook group entitled "AIG Cribs," states: "AIG's executives -- the same geniuses who have helped bring the economy to its knees with credit default swaps and mortgage backed securities -- get some of the nicest digs around. Join the group to support the AIG Cribs TOUR through Fairfield County."

The tour schedule is as follows:

10 a.m. Pick up at the Working Families headquarters in Hartford at 30 Arbor St.

11 a.m. Pick up in Bridgeport at the ACORN offices at 2320 Main St.

Tour and Protest at AIG Financial Products headquarters, 50 Danbury Road, and executives' homes

2:30 p.m. Return to Bridgeport

3:30 p.m. Return to Hartford

FYI: as a fairfield county mortgage professional let me remind everyone that bonus income is considered "discretionary" income. it is based on performance, and NOT guaranteed!

It''s a slippery slope when government wants to regulate people''s pay and bonuses. It also motivates people not to achieve. Why achieve, work hard and earn a decent living when the government wants to take it from you.

It''s also a slippery slope (Bolshevik Revolution, Weimar Republic) when "the people" start protesting and harassing the "upper classes"

The brilliant thing about America is that anyone can move up in this country. Anyone can work hard and earn as much or as little money as they want to. Pitting one group against another will not solve this problem, it will cause more problems.

Don''t think the nitwits in Congress and the White House will stop at banking and insurance companies when it comes to controlling your income and freedoms.

This is a disgusting display of manipulated class bias!
