Leonard, Mitchell to speak at breakfast


NORWALK -- Stew Leonard's will hold "Creating a 'Hugging' Culture" business breakfast and book signing from 8:15 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, at Stew Leonard's on Westport Avenue. Local businessmen Jack Mitchell, CEO of Mitchells/Richards and Marshs, and Stew Leonard Jr. of Stew Leonard's will speak about creating a culture of enthusiastic, empowered employees who deliver unsurpassed customer service in a fun atmosphere.

Each attendee will receive copies of Jack Mitchell's two books -- "Hug Your Customers: The Proven Way to Personalize Sales and Achieve Astounding Results;" and "Hug Your People: The Proven Way to Hire, Inspire, and Recognize Your Employees to Achieve Remarkable Results."

Tickets are available for $19.99, including copies of both of Mitchell's books.

ACP International presents job search


NORWALK -- ACP International's southern Connecticut/Westchester will present Job Search 2009, a one-day seminar for transitioning professionals, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m on Saturday, May 9, at the conference room at 301 Merritt 7.

Topics covered will be your personal brand and self marketing, resumes, networking and interviewing. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. Green living symposium set in Georgetown


WILTON -- There will be a free symposium on healthy and green living featuring local professionals at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Gilbert & Bennett School on New Street in Georgetown. Panelists include: Trudy Dujardin, president of Dujardin Design in Westport; Ron French of Alteris Renewables; Bob Faesy of Faesy-Smith Architects; Jade Hobson from the Wilton Garden Club; Patricia Gillespie, conservation organizer for Connecticut chapter of Sierra Club; Richard Creeth, Wilton selectman; and Ralph Bosch Jr., of Auburn Landings Construction.
