Former Wilton player Murphy to host Fun In The Sun Lacrosse Camp in Wilton




WILTON -- Fun In The Sun Lacrosse Camp for high school-aged players in the Connecticut and Westchester region is expecting record attendance at this summer's camp which will feature college coaches from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Connecticut.

Fun in the Sun camps will be run at Wilton High from June 22 to June 25 from 5:30pm- 8pm.

Wilton native Megan Murphy, an All-American/NCAA Division III Player of the Year at Gettysburg College (1999-2003) is the director of Fun in the Sun.

"Athletes be working in small teams with some great college coaches, exposing them to college level coaching and college level expectations," said Murphy. "With college admissions becoming increasingly competitive, this is an opportunity for our players to add an important credential to their college application and resume."

The Fun in the Sun staff this summer will include coaches from Franklin & Marshall (2009 and 2007 NCAA Division III National Champions), Trinity College, Vassar College, Marist College, Sacred Heart University, Connecticut College, McDaniel University, Washington College, Western Connecticut State and Central Connecticut State and many more.

Fun in the Sun also features a mini-tournament format which allows players and coaches to focus in on game situations, not just practice drills.

Middle- and high school-aged players from Wilton, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Redding, Weston, Katonah, South Salem, Chappaqua, Bedford and many will be represented.
