Leah's Grill features family-friendly openness
Posted on 07/01/2009
By JEFF KUJAN Villager Corespondant WILTON -- With a new interior, a new menu and a new name, Leah's Grill -- formerly the Sky Bar -- is now boasting a multitude of changes that aim to please Sky Bar fans as well as attract a new customer base. The new name, Leah's Grill, is a tribute to the daughter of the Route 7 restaurant's co-owner Tony Ramadani. The Sky Bar had been around for four and a half years and, according to co-owner Meratip Mazari, a change was in order. "We didn't change anything for four years," said Mazari. "We wanted to give it a new look." The changes were finalized last month and include a new patio and a new menu that encourages family dining. "The idea is to brighten it up a bit, make it more family oriented," he said. The new patio is located in the rear of the building. Another patio located in front of the building will be opened once construction on Route 7 is complete. The plan is to have the new patio opened by April of 2010, said Mazari. The menu at Leah's Grill has also experienced an upgrade and now includes a whole host of new dishes, including an extended seafood section. An entirely separate menu for kids has also been added. The price of the new kids menu covers a full meal as well as a scoop of ice cream. During the month that these changes have take effect, the public has been responding well to the new and improved restaurant, said Mike Racaj, the head waiter at Leah's Grill. "So far everybody's liked it, we've had a great response," he said. "I like the openness," said Phil Roux, a Wilton resident who has frequented the restaurant since it was called the Sky Bar. "The Sky Bar was geared towards an adult crowd, more sophisticated. The change in the menu is more conducive to having families come in. I've seen the change in clientele." "We have varieties, we have families, pretty much a little bit of everything," said Mazari. "That's what we're shooting for." Leah's Grill is located at 239 Danbury Road in Wilton. It is open for lunch and dinner from 11:30 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The entrance, as well as the new patio for outdoor dining, is located in the rear of the building.
