Center for HOPE and Hoyt Funeral Home to address grief issues

NEW CANAAN To help those experiencing a loss cope with the difficulties of grief and the start of a new year, the Center for HOPE will hold a special support group in conjunction with the Hoyt Funeral Home in New Canaan, according to a news release. Facilitated by Center for HOPE clinician Mary Sullivan, LCSW, the group will focus on the identifying support systems, exploring how hope can be rekindled after a death and showing attendees how sharing their grief among people coping similar circumstances can be a healing experience. The group will meet at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at the New Canaan Public Library. Light refreshments will be served. There is no charge for these programs; however pre-registration is required. For more than 25 years, the Center for HOPE provides comprehensive services for adults and children living with an illness or grieving a loss. All counseling, support and education services are facilitated by specially-trained professionals in an atmosphere of hope and renewal.
