Friday's High School Roundup -- Reedy falls in FCIAC wrestling quarterfinals; both hoops teams defeated by Trinity Catholic

Staff reports Wilton's Terrence Reedy was defeated in the quarterfinals of the FCIAC Wrestling championship and will have to battle through Saturday's "wrestle-backs" to see how high he can place. Action resumes at 9 a.m. with semifinal matches in each of the 14 weight classes, followed by a pair of wrestleback rounds, and then the third and fifth place consolation matches. The championship finals are set for 4 p.m. Wendell Christian of Brien McMahon defeated Reedy, the No. 2 seed, by a 2-1 score in the quarterfinals. Reedy is now 27-5 with two of his losses coming against Christian, who also won their regular-season match by one point. In addition to Reedy, Wilton will have Craig Helms at 160 pounds and Sean DeJager at 215 in today's wrestlbacks. * * * Boys BasketballTrinity 61, Wilton 46 The Crusaders (9-8 overall, 8-7 FCIAC) took a 36-16 lead at the half and never looked back. Leading the way for the Warriors (4-12) were Ian Ross, who scored 21 points, and Jackson Wilbur, who chipped in with 12 points. Jackson Wilbur added six rebounds and six blocks. Stacy Pokora aided the cause with nine points, four assists and three steals.
