Woman killed by Metro-North train identified

NORWALK -- Authorities have identified Ruiqing Lin as the woman killed by a Metro-North train Wednesday morning.

Lin, 63, of 13 Commerce St., Norwalk, was killed by a Danbury-bound Metropolitan Transit Authority train in a possible suicide.

Lin was reported missing by her husband and daughter at 1:43 p.m. on Wednesday.

The train left Danbury at 6:19 a.m. and the train "struck and killed a trespasser just south of Merritt 7" at the Commerce Street crossing at approximately 7:20 a.m., according to MTA officials.

Norwalk Police were the first to arrive on the scene, and they promptly put a white sheet over the dismembered body, according to a police report.
