Town receives Moody's highest bond rating

WILTON -- Wilton's Board of Selectmen recently announced that the town has received the highest bond rating by Moody's Investors Services.

Moody's Investors Services performs credit ratings, research and risk analysis on commercial and government borrowers and also provides research data and analytic tools for assessing credit risk, and publishes market-leading credit opinions, deal research and commentary. The Aaa rating allows Wilton to receive loans at the lowest possible rate.

At selectmen's Feb. 1 meeting, First Selectman Bill Brennan said the rating shows that Moody's considers Wilton as the smallest possible investment risk.

"This is a very good bond rating," said Brennan. "This proves that all of our conservative fiscal policies pay off and we want to keep it that way."
