Norwalk Hospital offering free cooking class in March

NORWALK

During March, which is National Nutrition Month, the Norwalk Hospital Nutrition Services Department and Morrison Healthcare Services are offering an "Eat Right" cooking class to the general public, free of charge, as a community service, according to a news release.

Norwalk Hospital's Chef Jeff Schack will present this cooking class on March 29 at noon in the Richard S. Perkin Auditorium of the hospital.

National Nutrition Month is a nutrition and information campaign sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association (ADA). It is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

This cooking class at Norwalk Hospital is being presented to help promote the importance of healthy eating. Good nutrition can help strengthen the body's defenses against infection, lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and osteoporosis, increase your resistance to stress and enhance your energy.

Seating is limited for the class so register early by calling Cindy Allen at (203) 855-3548.
