Third annual silent auction and cocktail reception to benefit Abby's All Stars
Posted on 03/07/2010
TRUMBULL Abby's All Stars will hold its third annual Silent Auction and Cocktail Reception on Saturday, March 13, at Tashua Knolls Golf Course, Trumbull, according to a news release. Funds from this event will be used to grant financial assistance to applicants having trouble funding out of pocket uninsured medical expenses due to Juvenile Diabetes. This past summer Central High School freshman Jason McElveen was the most recent recipient of an Abby's All Stars grant. His funds went toward his attendance at Camp Joslin, a diabetes camp in Massachusetts. He and his grandmother, and the leaders of Abby's All Stars will be on hand, volunteering and speaking to guests throughout the evening. The auction and reception opens at 7 p.m. and entertainment will be provided by Twisted Resistor. Tickets cost $50 per person and can be purchased through the organization's Web site, www.abbysallstars.org. Further information can be found on the Web site or by e-mailing info@abbysallstars. org. With the organization going into its third year, President Jennifer Occhicone said she is enthusiastic about the future of Abby's All Stars, and all involved are working hard to grow the organization's assets and donations in the coming year. Abby's All Stars, Inc. was founded to help families cover out-of-pocket uninsured medical expenses for Juvenile Diabetes, such as infusion sets, syringes, glucose meters and testing strips. There is a need for help with these unavoidable expenses right in our community. Abby's All Stars is always looking for volunteers. For more information, e-mail info@abbysallstars.org or writeto Abby's All Stars, P.O. Box 110010 Trumbull, CT 06611.
