"That latter relationship has incorporated the creation of new subspecialty clinics at Norwalk Hospital staffed by the pediatric sub-specialists of Maria Fareri as well as local pediatric specialists.. This makes high quality subspecialty care available to pediatric patients of our region without having to leave Southern Fairfield County." In her new position, Smetak will continue to lead the development of pediatrics services at Norwalk Hospital, including the expansion of surgical options for Norwalk's pediatric patients and the development of pediatric educational programs for medical students. Smetak received both her undergraduate and medical school education at New York University. She underwent post-residency fellowship training in pediatric critical care medicine both at Montefiore and Yale Children's Hospitals.
