Hecht receives Stamford Hospital's Physician Recognition Award

STAMFORD Scarsdale, N.Y., resident Dr. Harvey L. Hecht has received Stamford Hospital's Physician Recognition Award, according to a news release. Hecht, who specializes in Radiology and Breast Radiology, was nominated by fellow physicians and hospital personnel for the honor. The Physician Recognition Award is given quarterly to the physician who has shown an ongoing commitment to the hospital's Planetree philosophy of patient-focused care and has been a role model to other staff members. Additionally, the selected physician has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to living Stamford Hospital's daily values: Teamwork, Integrity, Compassion, Respect and Accountability. Hecht, who previously served as chairman of the Department of Radiology at Stamford Hospital, received this award because he leads by example and goes above and beyond his responsibilities, according to the release. His work ethic and care for his patients are admired and emulated by his colleagues. Hecht received his bachelor's degree from Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City. He completed his residency at Columbia University Medical Center. Hecht is board-certified in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology and serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons.
