Talk show to replace 'As the World Turns'
Posted on 07/23/2010
s NEW YORK (The Hollywood Reporter) -- A daily talk show hosted by former "Roseanne" star Sara Gilbert and other news and entertainment personalities who will look at current issues through the eyes of mothers will replace CBS' daytime soap "As the World Turns" this fall. CBS on Wednesday confirmed the plans for the show, which is also set to feature panelists Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Deadline Hollywood first reported that CBS had picked the show as the replacement for "World" -- which goes off the air in September after a 54 year run -- after also looking at a new version of "Pyramid" with Andy Richter as host and a cooking game show with Emeril Lagasse. Based in L.A., the show that will draw comparisons to "The View" has a tentative October launch date. CBS said it will include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, live remotes and personal home footage shot by the co-hosts. Gilbert developed the show and will serve as an executive producer.
