NYC comptroller says flight delays are getting worse each year
NEW YORK [AP]- A New York City official's report says flight delays at the region's three airports are growing every year and at a rate much faster than other U.S. cities.
City Comptroller William Thompson says the delays at John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty International Airports are hurting New York's ability to compete in the global marketplace.
In a 36-page analysis released Sunday, Thompson said the on-time performance of commercial aircraft at the airports this year is 13 percent below the national average. That's nearly three times worse than four years ago, when the on-time rate was 5 percent below the average.h
