Karen Johnson Strickland, known as "Carrie", daughter of Karen Strickland of West Haven and Joseph Strickland of Wilton, is engaged to John Thomas Dimoff, son of Rosemary and Clifford Dimoff of Portland, Ore.

Strickland, a 2001 graduate of Wilton High School, earned her bachelor's degree in English from Princeton University, where she was captain of the cross country team. She is a footwear product developer for Nike, Inc., which is headquartered in Beaverton, Ore., and is a member of the Bowerman Athletic Club, a Nike-sponsored running group.

Dimoff is a graduate of the University of Oregon and is also employed at Nike in sales. He previously owned a running specialty goods store in Portland and has participated in three Olympic Trials marathons. The couple lives in Beaverton, Ore. A July 28 wedding is planned in Bellingham, Wash.
