U-9 Boys
The U-9 boys soccer team played a well-coached and aggressive game in its third win of the season, 7-2, over Norwalk on Sunday afternoon.
The win was characterized by a full team effort on defense and offense. Joseph Berrafati anchored the defense in goal in the first half with a line up of Sean Breslin, Jackson Doggett, A.J. Hoffman and Griffin Klinga only allowing one goal.
After an earlier score, Chris Birch, played goalie in the second half with formidable defensive contributions by Harrison McCool, Jack Ginsberg and Peter Koch. The overall team effort was exemplified by five players contributing to the score board including Ryan Collins, Ryan McNamara and James Mannix.
Strong offensive pressure was consistently applied by Emmet Lane and a game highlight was a corner kick perfectly placed by McNamara to the head of Michael Mancuso for his third goal of the day.

Wilton White 5,
Trumbull United Typhoons 4
Wilton White recorded its first victory of the season last Sunday with an impressive 5-4 win against a relentless Trumbull team.
The Wilton girls dominated the first half with constant offensive pressure, started by a quick goal off of a breakaway by Elizabeth Healy.
Strong defensive play by Gwen Hall, Carolyn Yee, Claire Jansen and Catie Frankel complemented the excellent offensive play and clearly frustrated the Trumbull team.
Elizabeth Wall, Bria Albanese, Meredith Nash and Megan Keating showed nice teamwork, each taking numerous shots on goal. Later in the first half, Hannah Simmons scored her first goal of the season after a nice pass from Delaney Chase.
The team kept the pressure on in the second half, with Eliza Ward getting into the act and scoring her first goal of the season off of a nice pass from Ashley Vitarelli. Not to be outdone, later in the half Vitarelli made some nice moves and drove to score Wilton's fourth goal of the day, seeming to put the game out of reach.
But the Trumbull team would not give up, testing goalkeeper Megan Keating and the Wilton defense with frantic drives to the goal.
Finally, late in the half, Delaney Chase, fed by a nice pass by Julia Vitarelli, put an exclamation point on the strong offensive show with a shot to the back of the net.

Weston finally scored with a nice shot over to the corner of the net, but Wilton regained the six point advantage with a quick unassisted goal by Zoe Lamason.
U-10 Boys
Wilton's U-10 White boys were energized to win this first Sunday in May, but despite Wilton's utter domination of the Fairfield Heroes, the match ended in a frustrating 1-1 tie.
Wilton controlled the first half, with shots on goal by Hari Nair, Michael Tienken, Jack Brandt, Brian Perlee, Austin Slater , David Schneidemann, Jamie Fagan and Patrick Prinner.
The Fairfield goalie surrendered to Wilton's pressure on a pass from Michael Tienken to Timmy Watson, slamming the ball in the goal.

Late in the first half, the Fairfield Hero's managed to score with a slow surprise roll into the goal.
In the second half, Fairfield's pressure on goal increased, however Preston Turk's quick hands and feet ensured no scoring. Despite 17 more Wilton shots on goal, the Fairfield Hero's goalie denied Wilton its win.
Boys U-13A
Wilton U13A boys travel soccer team played a very physical Bridgeport Revolution team Sunday at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, losing a 3-0 decision.
Wilton's confidence was high coming off a win and a tie in last weekend's games. The front line of Alex Birch, Mike Lash, Sam Slater and Christophe Ugarte tried numerous times to muscle the ball in for a score only to be stopped by a talented Bridgeport keeper.
Scott Caggainello and Matthew Chann spent the game traversing the pitch in support of both the offense and defense. Peter Como was in his usual position as keeper for Wilton.
A very fast and strong Bridgeport striker blasted a high shot in to give Bridgeport a one-nil lead at halftime. Bryan Crampton, Mac McReynolds, Dakota Orton and Matthew Schneidman responded to Bridgeport's physical style with some scrappy, aggressive defensive moves of their own.
Bridgeport pressured and scored midway through the second half to go up 2-0.
With about ten minutes left in the match Christopher Ugarte suffered a knee injury and was not able to continue playing. Since Wilton had only eleven Wilton players available to play on Sunday, Wilton ended up playing one man down for the remainder of the game.
Bridgeport took advantage of this situation and scored once more securing a 3-0 win and handing Wilton their first loss of the season.
