Timothy Owen Wood, Jr.

Timothy Owen Wood, Jr. (Timmer), of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, following an accident while vacationing in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born in Norwalk on September 11, 1983, the youngest son of Tim and Robin (Sanborn) Wood.

Wood graduated from Wilton High School in 2002, where he was a prominent lacrosse and football player. He joined Wood Builders in 2003, and, with his cousins, was a member of the fourth generation working in the family business. He and his cousin Mike, born in the same year, were "book-ends" growing up and will always be each other's "best man."

Wood was a playful, kind, and sweet-natured man, known from childhood as a person generous with friendship and laughter as well as with any material thing he owned.

He loved to go fishing with his dad. He loved skiing and boating and playing with the family dogs. He loved music and was a graceful, enthusiastic dancer, gracious enough to take a turn around the floor with his aunts as well as his mom, sisters, and girlfriend, Dana Smiles.

In addition to his parents, Wood is survived by two sisters, Shelly Wood and Sandy Wood, both of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held for Wood at Hope Church, 240 Wolfpit Road, Wilton, on Monday, April 7, at 12 p.m.

Those who wish to remember him may contribute to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield Co., 1470 Barnum Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06610-3201.
