Chamber Golf Classic scheduled for May 19

WILTON — The Wilton Chamber of Commerce will be presenting its 12th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, May 19 at the Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield.

The golf event is sponsored by Fairfield County Bank and Carnall Insurance as a benefit for the chamber's community development programs and its high school scholarship award. The Golf Classic will feature a million dollar hole-in-one, as well as two automobile holes-in-one. Bruce Bennett Nissan is providing a 2008 Nissan Rogue sports utility vehicle as one of the prizes.

The Golf Classic includes a buffet lunch and dinner, snacks on the course, contests and raffles, and a full round of golf at Brooklawn's PGA course. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The format is scramble, and the per player fee is $325. Wilton woman wins advertising award

WILTON — Donna Murphy of Wilton and Doug Burcin, Worldwide Managing Partners at Euro RSCG Life, an integrated, global health communications network, were recently honored by Med Ad News at its 19th annual Manny Awards event at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers in New York City.

The Manny Awards honors some of the best in pharmaceutical and healthcare advertising. The "Advertising Person of the Year" is nominated by industry peers and selected by Med Ad News' editors, and this year, the team of Burcin and Murphy received this prestigious award.

Madaras opens real estate company

WILTON — Wilton resident Shalini Madaras is opening her own real estate company. Called Silver Pine Real Estate, it's located at 35 Signal Hill Road. The company will focus on residential sales and leasing but will also work with investment and redeveloping properties in Connecticut and New York State.
